The Turtle Ranch
Latest News:
Please note that the Turtle Ranch is no longer a
functioning rescue.  I only leave the site up for
educational purposes
This site is for educational
purposes only.  I am no longer
doing any rescue work and no
longer take in animals.   Since
the fire and resulting divorce,
I've had to give up rescue
work.  I still love the critters,
but don't have the resources
to help them right now.
Honda, a Geochelone sulcata, an African desert tortoise.
He survived the fire and is thriving in my new home.

One of the things for which I'm
most grateful about getting into
reptile rescue is having the
opportunity to learn about snakes.
In educating others, I am able to
help them overcome their fears as
I've overcome my own.  At the very
least, I've been able to talk  several
of my neighbors into calling me
whenever they find snakes on their
properties.

I'm far from an expert on snakes,
but I enjoy working with them.

This award was presented to The Turtle Ranch by Misty
Corton from Africa.  She has been one of my kindest

Special thanks to Mac Dunford with Airline Hydroponics for his time, ideas, and assistance.   My friend Michelle has been responsible for helping me
find furniture and appliances.  My friends Jim and Donna let me use their guest room while Jim and I were renovating the new place.  My friends Bo and
Carrie helped me in more ways than I can put into words.  I also wish to thank all of the other turtle keepers who've been so generous in sending me
supplies, money, and words of encouragement after the fire.
I love the WCT because one of their primary goals is
education.  I firmly believe that education is the key to
conservation.
